If an admitted student becomes medically incapacitated and unable to matriculate to DMU, a written statement from a medical provider (physician or another advanced practice provider (PA or NP)) must be submitted to the Office of Admissions to verify the student is medically incapacitated. The student will not be penalized for cancelling and may defer to the next year’s cohort, or reapply for future cycles with appropriate documentation of medical capacity and any other relevant steps per the university. When a student returns during the application year, they may request reinstatement to the current class along with a medical release from their physician or advanced practice provider (PA or NP), pending available space. When space is not available, the student may be offered a deferral to the following year provided all requirements are still met.
